Madeline J. Huston

An arts educator and art therapist with an MA in Fine Arts and a MS in Art Therapy, Madeline Huston began her career in public schools teaching fine arts, related arts and graphic design K-12. She now teaches at Viterbo University, La Crosse, WI, in their graduate school of education and is also the Visual Arts and Intergenerational Multi-Arts Project Director for Danceworks, Inc. Milwaukee, overseeing a range of arts projects, many of which work with underserved communities.
She is part of a team of other arts and education professionals sharing ideas and experiences and creating a book demystifying the craft of bookmaking, bringing this creative process to everyone surmounting age, ability and economic boundaries. Madeline Hus- ton takes great pleasure in working in the realm of creative potential, seeing things in new ways and using a creative process—like writing a book about books!—to expand insights, build relationships and have some fun in the process.
